Programs

The MidAmerica Center for Public Health Practice (MCPHP) promotes public health workforce development and houses programs that advance professional skills and leadership development and prepare the public health workforce to address emerging public health concerns. MCPHP consists of the following programs:

MCPHP also hosts Publichealthlearning.com, a fully-functional Learning Management System (LMS) that supports competency-based, online continuing education (CE) for the public health workforce; provides coordination of CE activities offered by MCPHP and the Great Lakes Centers (GLC). PublicHealthLearning.com offers access to a free, publicly accessible learning management system (LMS) where you can assess yourself on key professional competencies (core public health, leadership, emergency preparedness, and others), and find appropriate training opportunities offered by MCPHP, GLC and outside partner organizations.

Besides offering you a gateway to training opportunities, PublicHealthLearning.com provides you with tools to track professional development, and to store information about training that you complete both within the LMS and elsewhere. Use these tools to document meeting requirements for your job, credits towards a certification, or just progress towards your personal development goals. Whether you are new to the field of public health, or an established professional with many years of experience, you will find training suited to your needs at PublicHealthLearning.com.
